Must read, Brian Lowney’s new book–Unconditional Love: Pet Tales to Warm the Heart

If you are an animal lover, then this is touching book for you. Brian J. Lowney, a familiar name in Swansea, Massachusetts for his weekly pet column, Catholic writing and work as a dog judge, has written a new book entitled Unconditional Love: Pet Tales to Warm the Heart.
The 178-page book offers a selection of the author’s newspaper columns and other writings complied during the past 20 years. Lowney currently pens a weekly column – Fur, Fins and Feathers – for two newspapers in Southeastern Massachusetts and has contributed several pet related articles to Go Local RI and other publications.
“I wrote this book for anyone who loves animals, especially those furry, finned, and feathered creatures that bring pure joy to their owners’ lives,” Lowney said.
“Pets are truly one of God’s greatest gifts,” he continued. “Just look at how service animals help their owners, and how therapy dogs and cats bring joy to hospice patients and the elderly in nursing homes. Pets are a wonderful blessing.”
According to Lowney, the collection contains inspirational stories about special cats and dogs that have transformed their owners’ lives, breed profiles, practical veterinary advice presented in interviews with leading experts, and reflections on the writer’s many years spent enjoying the sport of purebred dogs.
“Most everyone’s life has been touched by a special animal,” the author added, noting that his family has seldom been without a cat, dog or other creature in more than 50 years. Lowney fondly recalled that his first pet was a tiny parakeet named Joey that rode a tiny bicycle across the kitchen table.
“Whether you share your heart and hearth with a friendly feline, a comical canine, a colorful tank of fish, or other creatures, this book will entertain, educate, and inspire you with stories that illustrate how animals transform lives, and make the world a better place,” he continued.
Lowney, a past secretary of the Providence County Kennel Club and the former president of the Wampanoag Kennel Club in New Bedford, Massachusetts, raised and exhibited champion Kerry Blue Terriers for many years. He now serves as an American Kennel Club judge of Junior Showmanship classes as well as a 4-H judge of Fitting and Showmanship classes.
Brian is available for school and library visits, speaking programs and book signings.
